The Ripon Area Community Theatre proudly presents their summer musical production of, "Annie," with the Book by THOMAS MEEHAN, Music by CHARLES STROUSE, Lyrics by MARTIN CHARNIN; Directed by Brian Reilly.
Based on "Little Orphan Annie" ®, “Annie,” tells the tale of little orphan Annie, who lives in New York City in the 1930s. It’s a "Hard Knock Life" being an orphan, especially when your orphanage is run by the overbearing and mean-spirited (and often tipsy) Miss Hannigan. Annie dreams of one day being reunited with her mother and father, whom she knows will one day return for her, "Maybe". In the meantime she looks out for her fellow orphans and adopts a stray dog, Sandy, off the street.
Just before Christmas, the millionaire industrialist, Oliver Warbucks, wants to invite an orphan to stay with him in his mansion for the holidays. Annie gets the opportunity to see how the other half lives and very quickly comes to the conclusion that she’s "Going to Like it Here".
When Mr. Warbucks offers to help Annie locate her parents, Miss Hannigan and her no-good brother, Rooster, hatch a plan that will put them on "Easy Street".
The Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 performances are at 7pm, and the Sunday, August 23 performance is at 2pm.
